Hi there and welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere.
I started this blog as a place to put down my thoughts on the games I was playing at the time, with a particular focus on the The Old Republic that was still in early development at that time. Since then I've used it to jot down my thoughts on all sorts of things, but it's still mainly about the games I'm playing. You can also find a running commentary on what my game characters have been
up to, a place to store my RP stories (there's hours and hours worth of
reading there if you are feeling particularly masochistic), a journal of my pen-n-paper roleplay campaign, and even the odd rant.
I've been playing MMOs for nearly 14 years now, which is kind of
terrifying! In fact I've been playing online games in general for over
20 years. My first MMO was Everquest, a game which both frustrated me
and cemented my love for the genre for years to come.
After I had finished my time in Everquest the next MMO I came to love
was Dark Age of Camelot. It's still a game that lingers in the memory,
mainly due to two reasons - the RvR game, which has still to be matched
by any other MMO, and the sense of community engendered by the realm
pride that the game produced.
I've played many MMOs since then, almost always in roleplay guilds, but
enjoyed extended stays in EQ2, Lord of the Rings Online, The Old
Republic and The Secret World.
In real life I'm 43 years old, which I know makes me an oldie in gaming
terms, but I come with plenty of experience. I started roleplaying 25
years ago (pen 'n' paper at that time of course) and I'm based in the
When I'm not gaming and working I'm busy looking after my two young
kids, which can be a full time job in itself!
