1st Mirtul, 1481 DR

Ma time in Neverwinter hay been a brief, but nay unhappy stay. Ah came a disgraced hero sum thirty years previous, outcast by ma people and seeking redemption. Nay from ma fellow Dwarves of Clan Stormheart and those faithful ta King Eremus and tha Great Battlehammer, but from tha people of Neverwinter, whom by ma unfortunate actions had to some degree been affected in the most devastating and deadly way. Their homes, fortunes and lives burnt by tha unstoppable creepin lava from tha eruption of the Great Forge at Gauntlgrym. Ah was nay there thankfully. But only by a stroke of fortune and fate. Ah had wanted to be there. More than anything else in ma lon-ragged life. Refused and humiliated by ma King Eremus, my request to join the Great Battlehammers expedition ta reclaim Gauntlgrym way cast out by reason unknown ta ma or mine. So strong was ma need ta be a part och reclaiming a past heritage at tha Great Forge, ah defied ma King Eremus and left ma post as a Major an his mighty army. Decommissioned ma'sen, an packing ole faithful Grainger and setting off after tha Great Battlehammer's war gang. As ah followed their trail ahn ta tha mountains ahn a storm ta rival tha harshest ah hay ever experienced. Lost and losing valuable time, ah did nay catch tha gang until it wah too late. Just a day frum their trail they wuh now a gang ahn full force determined ta stop that dreadful Dahlia Sahn'felle, Matron Mother of tha dark horde. Pure luck had sen the expedition of tha armies of Bruenor ta reclaim Gauntlgrym be ahn the area och tha mountain at that time. But e'en them wah too late.. Tha Dark Queen had already arrived and ahn so disturbed the Mighty Maegera, causing an eruption ne'er sen before.. if only ah could turn back tha time. if ah could ah ben there ta help push tha troops we could have gotten there and stopped tha evil witch. But ah, tha wah nay supposed ta be. instead, Neverwinter burned. So ah sen ma'sen ta them city gates ta offer my smith'n services ta tha smitten populace.

So, Ah find ma'sen on this morn once mur at them gates, this time a leavin. Leavin once mur ahn disgrace.. Ah should nee hay thrown the young laddy through the window and ah did nee know who he wur. If ah'd a known who he wur, ah would a just threatened tha stinky runt for touchin up young Vale. Ah seriously did nee know. Anyways, ah finds ma'sen escapin' as a guard on ol' Gundren’s trail wagon.

Ma companions are a mixed bunch. Ah met them whilst loading tha wagon an Ah nee know wha ta make of 'em, but Ah'll a keep clear until Ah do. Especially och tha stinkin Orc. Though he does look like a creature och faith, so time'ull tell. We sen out on tha trail in two days. Until then Ah keep ta ma room and stay away from tha guards.

3rd Mirtul, 1481 DR

It's come ta tha morn och tha journey. Ma bags are packed an ma Axe is ready. Ah look forward ta tha road and ta stretchin ma ole bones. That last two days hay been long. From ma long days in tha Underdark, Ah am used ta tha dark an enclosed spaces, but for sum reason Ah now long and lust for tha road.

Ah arrived early, sittin in tha shadow's of the warehouses until tha wagon wah aboot ta leave. Then as she wur a rolling Ah ran to catch up an Ah caught her as she went through tha gates. Ma companions wur already in place and d'nay speak ta mah as Ah walked past tha drafts. Ah was fine with that ahn took up ma position at the front, rested ma Axe on ma shoulder and just walked on, enjoying tha fresh breeze in ma beard. A quick glance back to tha city an Ah knew Ah was nay bein followed. Castin ma eyes to tha horizon, Ah strolled on. Ah nay know when Ah'll be back ta Neverwinter, but shes a dun ma good for a while. Ah'll miss her.

Later tha day we wur ambushed by stinkin Gobbs, and followin tha trail we found tha hideout, freeing Sildar ol' Gundren’s man. It looks like we have ahn job to get ol' Gundren back too. In tha battles tha group did well, that young Human lass brave as ahn lion. So young yet so much courage. The archer elf sim a savvy lad usin his bow to best advantage. Ah saw 'im tak a few with his arrows. Ahn tha Orc... Ah still dunna like that stinky creature and he sims clumsy as Happless Ragin back home, gettin 'imself injured every few minutes. But 'e wer a brave one jumping like ahn orc to tha slaughter luckily landing on that Gobb squishin 'im. Ah guess time will tell. That other o'me kin sims well versed in tha magicks shooting fire from his fingertips. Ah must show respect ahn greet him properly when me 'ave tha chance.

Ah me'sen got eight kills of them gobb bastards. Six with me axe and two with me crossbow. A paltry amount by any standard.

We head to tha next mining town t' get mur information on ol' Gundren ahn ta drop off Sildar. Ah like mining towns. Simple ahn focussed. Ahn tha ale's usually pretty robust, which is fine by me'sen. Gobb stompin' has filled ma with a thirst. Maybe theres a fat roast goose or tha like too.
